The following table demonstrates the difference in
visitor volumes between those that arrive at Friedman Memorial Airport,
Hailey, ID and all other feeder airports. These passengers that arrive
through other Airports are considered potential passengers for enhanced
Air Service as they have chosen other portals due to service and/or
price considerations. This represents 106,075 visitors for the year of
2000 (last year for which there are reliable statistics). 27.70% of the
passengers originated within the Wood River Valley (residents). The
potential of the local populace remains unquantifyable as many of them
transit by automobile to Boise to complete their business trips due to
service and price considerations. I know this well, as I traveled in
excess of 200 times during the last calendar year, and only twice did I
fly from Friedman Memorial Airport, Hailey, ID. |
