Subject: Transocean;

Hello; was doing some surfing and came across TALOA .com. My name is Jerry Baranow, was employed by Transocean at Oakland for position on Wake as a mechanic. This would have been probably about Aug. 1957. Finally got to Wake about a month later.

Shortly thereafter was promoted to position of Line Supervisor, finished the contract and transferred to the Transocean Tokyo operation. Larry Bovat was the station Manager at Tachikawa AFB. Stayed with Transocean at Tachikawa until contract was cancelled and another outfit took over the operation. I even have a short ( maybe  one minute) film of the Transocean B377 at Tachi.

The fly by night that took over was called America International Airways (AIA). Retained a few of the TALOA DC-4's and even brought one of their own from Europe. This outfit didn't last very long either. All this occurred during 1958-1959.

I'm presently retired from the FAA and living in Tucson, but still have fond memories of TALOA. Good luck;

Jerry Baranow
